Details
Triumph and tragedy often goes hand in hand. The New Forest must have felt like a haven for the triumphant Norman invaders of the 11th century, but it was where William 11 met his untimely end. Equally, the Isle of Wight is home to one of the happiest royal residences, Osborne House, where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert created the epitome of Royal family life. Alongside is Carisbrooke Castle, where a king was imprisoned prior to his execution.οΎ In this programme we tour the south and visit the grandeur of Petworth and Arundel as well as the glorious surroundings of the Isle of Wight and the New Forest.
