The Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show 2003 is the Academy Awards of horticulture, the event where leading horticulturists and garden designers take the stage for the most dazzling display of plants and gardens in the world. This year's Chelsea boasts twenty three show gardens, an astonishing thirty two of the smaller Chic, Courtyard and City Gardens, seven Sunflower Street gardens and the Pavilions, brimming with exhibits from all over the world, full of the newest and best in plants and design. This year's Chelsea is truly an international floral feast of delight.
There is inspiration for everyone, whether your garden is urban, rural, large or minute, and the trends seen here will sweep the globe. There are gardens from the Caribbean, California, the Mediterranean, Australia, Abu Dhabi, and the Far East. And from the UK a tour through the British countryside with a vision of Snowdonia, a natural Welsh escarpment with its waterfall, Ayrshire farmlands that inspired Robbie Burns and Yorkshire, alive with opportunity.
The Chelsea Video and DVD are full of the new and surprising, they are filled with ideas to copy and take home, but above all, they capture the excitement and magic of the Show itself and the people who have worked round the clock to make it the ultimate in horticultural events. Carol Klein, plantswoman, writer and television personality presents this year's programme. We glimpse the hard work of the build-up as exhibitors groom and tweak their displays into perfection for the press day and Royal visit. We hear from designers and exhibitors and experience the show in all its final glory.
The Chelsea programme provides a ravishing memento of this year's show. It is a programme to watch and enjoy long after the brief spell of the Show draws to a close.

SPRING

This is the season when Wisley's Rhododendrons, camellias and azaleas are at their most spectacular
and the Alpine meadow is rich with colour as bulbs come into full flower. This hour long video also offers
you the chance to go behind the scenes to meet the experts who look after Wisley at this, one of their busiest times of the year. AUD$30-00. Export AUD$27-28.
SUMMER

This season sees Wisley's trials field ablaze with sweet peas and delphiniums, whilst the Rose Garden
and the Broadwalk are at their glorious best. The fruit and vegetable gardens are ready to harvest and
amongst plants featured are strawberry varieties and vegetables that can be planted in a confined space.
But, as every gardener knows, summer is never all sunshine and flowers and the hour long video also
features Wisley's experts dealing with plant pests and disease, giving horticultural advice, and offering
plenty of tips on pruning and propagation. AUD$30-00. Export AUD$27-28.
AUTUMN

This, the third in the series takes us through the autumn season and celebrates the splendour of one of the
worlds best known gardens at Wisley. Offering you a glorious palette of autumn colours and also includes
handy tips from the experts, the look at the vast range of apple varieties grown, chrysanthemums and a
spectacular tour through the trees in the arboretum. One Hour. AUD$30-00. Export AUD$27-28.
WINTER

This is a time of ethereal and fragile beauty with the many trees and shrubs specially grown for the winter
colours that illuminate the landscape. The glasshouses display a bolder palette of colours as late
chrysanthemums vie with delightful alpines and striking orchids for the gardeners attention. The video
explains the different techniques involved in achieving the displays and looks at some of the more unusual
plants that can be grown throughout the winter months. Attention is also given to the more prosaic side of
gardening, and the video looks at a number of useful digging and manuring methods. One Hour. AUD$30-00. Export AUD$27-28.

Our guide this year is Carol Klein, an exhibitor at Chelsea for many years and in the UK well known as a 'plantswoman'.
Running time 60 minutes. AUD$39-95. Export AUD$36-32.
